Boo!

In honor of Halloween, vote for the best slasher in horror movies here. My money is on Freddy Krueger.

Yes, Freddy will probably win. He's got the best one-liners. :)

Sorry, but Jason freaked me out for quite awhile, plus he was my first (slasher). :-)

Did you see the top 50 horror movies from the Globe? Pathetic. They have 'John Carpenter's the Thing' at #1. Granted, it's a fun horror flic, it just doesn't make sense for it to be #1.

Halloween, The Exorcist, The Shining (or Shinnin), The Changeling, Silence of the Lambs, Hellraiser, Jaws, and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre are all more memorable, inventive, and most importantly, scary than The Thing.

Other notable autrocities on the Globe's top 50:

# 3 The Ring - it's a remake, at least include the original, and much scarier Japanese version

# 46 Blair Witch 2 - that movie is actually underrated and it didn't bother me that it made this list....but where's the first one? They call it too gimmicky....then list Open Waters at #33. WTH???? Love it or Hate it, the first BW changed film history. I pooped my pants in the theatre I was so scared. Granted, I poop my pants almost every day, but still, I was frightened. And I still have trouble going camping.

#40 Rosemary's Baby - that movie should be top 10. Real Freaky Naughty.

#25 Mothman Prophecies - No, no, no. I think a 10 year old made this list. The best thing that came out of that movie was the weird 'Chapstick' line said in that creepy whisper, and I can't stop saying it every time I put on Chapstick.

#43 the Blob 1988 - This movie has Kevin Dillon in a serious lead role. Not scary.

#7 Evil Dead II - Brilliant? Yes. Hilarious? Yes. Classic? Yes. Scary? Absolutely not. ED II is to Scary as 'Roadhouse' is to Romance. I'm watching that movie for ridiculous dancing skeletons and hilarious demon vomit and that's it. If this was a top 50 campy list, I would completely agree.

Other movies that were inconceivably left of the list:
- It (clowns are scary)
- Exorcist 3 (cheesy at times but very underrated)
- Candyman (I don't understand, they have Candyman in the slasher tourney but leave out his movie. Makes no sense)
- The Birds
- The Hitcher
- The Omen (how is this not on the list???? The nanny hanging scene will go with me to my grave)
- Poultergeist (once again, clowns are scary. Man eating trees even more so)

However, there were some decisions on the list that I agreed with, such as the rankings of 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers', 'Freaks', and 'Jacob's Ladder'. These are 3 films I intend to watch in the next two weeks to get pumped up for Candy Day. All are emotionally scarring. Other on my list this week: The Changeling (Halloween tradition),

Sorry for the long rant, I just felt this list was an injustice. Happy Halloween everyone!
